The following topics have been identified as research priorities for Training and Education:

  1. Survey the preferences and values of homeowners and evaluate their influence on selection of wastewater technologies


  2. Evaluate public attitudes and values (acceptance/fear) and their relation to public health and ecosystem risk perception


  3. Develop education campaign materials to increase acceptance of decentralized wastewater management and the potentially increased costs


  4. Develop tools for effective public involvement
